Nebulising can provide relief for a variety of equine respiratory conditions such as COPD, Recurrent Airway Obstruction (RAO) or allergies. It is an alternative and/or complementary method to the oral or intravenous administration of medication. However, Flexineb can nebulise not only medication but also saline solution and other preparations. Nebulising is therefore a solid means of choice for successful respiratory treatment.
WHAT OTHER BENEFITS DOES NEBULISING HAVE TO OFFER?
No medication loss – the active ingredient goes directly to where it is needed – in the lungs. Medications do not have to take a detour via the digestive tract/circulatory system (which may lead to undesirable side effects, such as the formation of mucus, for example, during regular administration of cortisone). In addition, the medication works faster than, for example, tablets, has fewer side effects and requires lower dosages – this protects your horse’s health and your wallet equally.
Nebulising is quick and easy to administer. This gives you the benefit of being able to treat your horse easily and without external help if required.
If you do not (want to) nebulise any medication, but want to support the healing process in your horse, a nebuliser can be used to provide your stables with a salty sea air climate, which has a positive effect on the respiratory tract and promotes the removal of mucus.
