TREATMENT / CLEANING

Our tested recommendation for the treatment and cleaning of the device (see instructions for use) – Frosch Kitchen Hygiene Cleaner.

Some of you may wonder why we chose the Frosch Kitchen Hygiene Cleaner to clean the Flexineb nebuliser. Our deliberations: “What is good and approved for kitchens, chopping boards, refrigerators, etc. is probably also perfect for our system.”

We had to meet these demands:

  • It may not be toxic.
  • It may not leave behind residues.
  • It must not irritate the skin.
  • It must reduce unwanted bacteria, remove dirt and neutralise any unpleasant odours.
  • It must not have a corrosive effect on the material, mask or nebuliser.

The Frosch Kitchen Hygiene Cleaner passed these and even more requirements with distinction. Its compatibility with the Flexineb® system has now been confirmed by the manufacturer Nortev Ltd in Galway.

Frosch Kuechen Hygiene Reiniger

NOTE: The Frosch Kitchen Hygiene Cleaner is no disinfectant and no biocide!

Disinfectants and biocides can leave residues which are undesirable in individual cases and which we have therefore not selected on purpose. They may also cause corrosion damage to the nebuliser membrane under certain circumstances. We horse owners must also remember that the stable and the environment of our horses are not a clinic and cannot be kept sterile. If you intend to disinfect the mask, please use the appropriate disinfectant wipes. A list of tested disinfectant wipes (approved for the mask) will be published here shortly. If the device is used on several horses simultaneously, the purchase of additional mask bodies should be considered if cross-contamination is to be largely prevented in justified individual cases.

Detailed cleaning instructions can be found as part of the instructions for use: Flexineb® 1 & Flexineb® E2
